The Legend of Volcan
Many, many years ago, there was a time when the Earth shook with a tremendous force. Numerous volcanoes scattered across the globe spewed out lava, bellowing out a blackened smoke which created what was known as "The Dark Ages". During the years that encompassed this time in history, the common people who worked the land struggled to bring forth a bounty from a parched and desolate country. What little they could muster from the ground was quickly gathered up by greedy warlords to use for their own selfish purposes. In the South of France during this bleak time in history, the people asked the heavens for a deliverer; someone or something who would rescue them from their plight. One night, a volcano erupted forth covering the ground with a twisted, ropey looking lava. When it hardened, the lava became a giant, angry French Draft horse. The people began to shout, "Volcan! Volcan!" and thus this name which means volcano in French became the name for which he was to be forever known by.

Volcan spouted fire with every breath as he thundered across the mountains and valleys. The people began to shout,"What have we done to unleash this terror on our land?" but they soon discovered that the fury unleashed by Volcan was directed towards the evil warlords, not the common people of the land. Volcan set out to destroy everything that the warlords owned, including all of the their possessions and livestock. This angry drafter was swift in his vengence and soon brought the land back to peace and prosperity for the people to enjoy for generations to come. When his job was done, Volcan exclaimed, "It is good that evil should not prosper on this Earth" and with his last breath, he turned to the very stone which today makes the land rich with harvest. The people from that time on would tell the story of Volcan and how he gave them a future of a prosperous land.
Meet Volcan, the 1/9th Scale Replica
To commemorate the story of Volcan, artists Debbi LerMond www.HorseModels.com and Mindy Berg www.SpruceMtnStudio.com combined their talents to recreate this legend of olde. To sculpt Volcan, Debbi took the #1 Artist's Copy from her sold out resin edition, "The Annihilator" and customized the hollowcast polyurethane resin into the 1/9th scale replica of this angry French drafter. Since Volcan depicts one mean, dirty horse, he was painted by the incredible talents of Mindy Berg in rich pastels with a variety of colors, even so much as to add mud and dirt on his legs and hooves. His hair has been ruffled in sweat waves as if he just got through stomping down evil warlords in the French countryside.

Volcan is one mean horse and is probably the only model resin horse in history who actually bit the painter as she was working on him and has the teeth marks to prove it! He is a lot of horse to handle which you can discover when you see him in person. With the ultra strong Magne-Click, he actually stomps down on his metal bases. There is enough pull in his hooves to even hold up a bowling ball! Wherever Volcan goes, you will hear the thunder and feel the ground shake beneath his hooves as he stomps across the land!
